The Steelhead Drifter 2 is the perfect grab-and-go lockbox for discreet, lightweight protection. Built in the USA with real American steel, the Drifter gives you the core security features Steelhead is known for at a price almost unheard of for U.S. manufacturing.

At just 6.50 pounds, it's about half the weight of Steelhead's HD models and sized to fit in tight spaces, gloveboxes, nightstands, or under a car seat. With its compact footprint, the Drifter 2 easily fits a larger handgun with optics, lights, and extra magazines, a full-sized handgun in its holster, or two mid-sized or compact firearms.

The Drifter uses a unique overlapping lid design that eliminates the "wedged-shut" failure common in many lightweight lockboxes. Heavy 1/4" staked and welded hinges with an integrated pin guard protect against punch attacks, and the double-shear lock mechanism adds solid pry resistance.

Inside, the Drifter includes two layers of 3/8" protective foam and a thick convoluted foam lid to keep items from shifting. Four mounting holes on the base allow secure anchoring when needed. You can also choose an optional 6,000-lb rated security cable, made in teh USA, in 3-ft or 6-ft lengths.
