Released as Anthony Barela's first signature disc, the Cigarra is an overstable evolution of the incredibly popular Cicada mold. Engineered to handle high-speed torque and aggressive releases, Anthony Barela specifically designed this disc to function as a "longer Buzzz"—offering a remarkably straight mid-flight with a much stronger, more dependable finish than its predecessor. Molded in Discraft's ultra-bright, premium glow-in-the-dark plastic, it is the ultimate nighttime utility fairway driver. Add this glowing workhorse to your Discraft Cigarra Collection and explore our full Discraft lineup today!

<>

Flight Numbers & Performance

The Cigarra features upgraded flight numbers of 7 | 6 | -1 | 2 and a Discraft Stability Rating of 1.3 (a significant step up from the Cicada's 0.5). While it retains the comfortable, high-glide, and slightly domey hand feel players love, the modified wing shape gives the Cigarra significantly more torque resistance. Power throwers can crush it flat on both backhand and forehand lines without worrying about it rolling over.

Speed

Glide

Turn

Fade

7

6

-1

2

How the Mega Glo Cigarra transforms your game:

The "Longer Buzzz" Flight: Expect a laser-straight push through the majority of its flight before executing a reliable, biting 2-fade at the tail end.

Torque Resistance: The modified wing design handles off-axis torque and high-speed arm speed effortlessly, making it a highly trustworthy choice for stiff headwinds.

Ultra-Bright Night Play: Discraft's Mega Glo Z blend is engineered for maximum brightness and longevity during night rounds, all while providing a slightly stickier, more tactile grip than standard Z Line.

<>

Explore Other Cigarra Plastics

The stability of the Discraft Cigarra varies noticeably across its plastic blends. While they share the same comfortable, glide-heavy 7-speed profile, the Cigarra's modified wing gives it a Discraft Stability Rating of 1.3 (compared to the Cicada's 0.5) and a stronger 2-fade. This allows it to handle significantly more power and wind without turning over.

How does the Mega Glo plastic affect the flight of the Cigarra?

The Mega Glo Z runs beautifully split the difference in the Cigarra stability spectrum. They retain the dependable, torque-resistant stability you expect from a premium Z-blend, but the glow additives give the disc a slightly stickier hand-feel and make it a touch more workable out of the box than the ultra-beefy First Run Z Line.

Is the Cigarra a good fairway driver for forehands?

Yes!
